Top 10 Best Brian Tracy Books [Ranked]
There’s a reason I put this book at #1. This is, by far, one of the best books I have ever read. It contains no fluff and a ton of actionable material. It has some incredibly deep knowledge that’s described in a way that’s easy to understand.
Chapters include “The Seven Laws of Mental Mastery”, “The Master Program”, “The Master Mind”, and “The Master Skill”, but I think that the first chapter is worth the entire price of the book, and it’s called “Make Your Life a Masterpiece”. The first chapter, “Make Your Life a Masterpiece”, tells Brian Tracy’s story and how the turning point of his life was when he realized that he couldn’t hit a target he couldn’t see, and that’s true for you as well. You can’t accomplish wonderful things with your life if you have no idea of what they are. You must first become absolutely clear about what you want if you’re serious about unlocking the extraordinary power that ‘s within you.” Brian Tracy also gives the seven ingredients of success that will help you build your own masterpiece. They are:

This book changed my life. It’s the one book that got me really clear on my goals and what I want out of life. There are questions at the end of every chapter that are there to help you get clear on your own goals. I actually wrote down all of the questions (there are dozens) on a piece of paper and answered them one by one. It took me a few hours, but it was worth it.
Brian Tracy books are all about going from frustration to fulfillment, but this one has the essential principles you need to know to make your dreams come true. It has a simple, powerful, and effective system for achieving goals. This book is also broken up into different sections (finances, family, health, etc.) so you can set goals in every area of your life. I think that’s really important and Brian Tracy does a great job in this book. |
If you've ever wanted to become more productive, this book is for you. It's a quick and easy read that shows you exactly how you can get more done in less time. This is an especially popular book among those in business. I can't tell you how many times people have recommended this book to me.

I remember reading this book and being blown away at how Brian Tracy broke down the element of self-discipline within nearly every aspect of life. He talks about the role of self-discipline in work, leadership, business sales, courage, persistence, character, success, etc. This book is the authority on self-discipline, so if you're looking to become more disciplined in your life, this is probably the best Brian Tracy book you can read.
Tracy talks about how most people live on "Someday Isle". They tell themselves that "someday" they will start building the life of their dreams. Sadly, they never get there. The missing ingredient was self-discipline. Hopefully you have enough self-discipline to read this book. |
While the word "salesperson" isn't officially in my title, I believe that we are all in sales. Life is about selling. You sell the idea of marriage to your spouse. You sell the idea of doing chores to your children. We are all in sales. I decided to read this book because I was on a binge of Brian Tracy books and threw this one in as well. I wasn't disappointed. It gave me a lot of insight into how salespeople think and the actions that it takes to succeed in the world.

This book starts with a story about a nuclear power plant that was experiencing a major technical problem. As much as they tried, the plant’s engineers couldn’t identify the problem, so they brought in one of the nation’s top consultants to take a look.
The consultant got there and, for the next two days, he walked around studying the hundreds of dials and gauges in the plant. At the end of the second day, he took a marker and put a large black “X” on one of the gauges. He told the plant engineers to repair and replace that particular apparatus, which was causing all of the problems. About a week later, the plant manager received a bill for $10,000 for “services rendered” from the consultant. The plant manager, shocked at such a large bill, asked the consultant to itemize his charges. The consultant sent back an itemized bill that said, “For placing the ‘X’ on gauge: $1.00. For knowing which gauge to place ‘X’ on: $9,999.” That X is your focal point. If you’re not getting the results you desire in your life, it’s because there’s something you don’t know. Focal Point’s chapters are broken down into different life areas, such as productivity, career, family, health, spiritual development and so on. It will help you uncover the focal points in these different areas of your life. Big takeaway: “You can dramatically improve the overall quality of your life far faster than you might think possible. All you need is the desire to change, the decision to take action, the discipline to practice the new behaviors you have chosen, and the determination to persist until you get the results you want.” |
This was a really cool book because it’s based on an interesting concept. When a plane is flying, it does not stay on a straight path from point A to point B. It goes on and off that straight line throughout the flight. In fact, a plane is “off course” around 99% of the time! However, the plane keeps on moving and eventually it reaches the destination. The same is true for you and your goals.
Flight Plan is a good book to read along with the Goals book. Like any good pilot, you need a flight plan of where you want to go before you take off. In this book, Brian Tracy will help you learn how to:
When you follow Brian Tracy’s Flight Plan, the sky really is the limit. |
This is the shortest book on this list, but it packs a powerful punch. I read it probably once every few months. It’s a good book to read while I’m in an auto shop, waiting room, etc.
Like most Brian Tracy books, this one talks about unlocking your full potential, but this particular book hones in on clarity, focus, and concentration. If you can develop those three traits (and this book shows you how) then you can accomplish more in a few months than most people do in a lifetime. Get clear on your goals, focus on them, and concentrate until you get there. |
I think this was the second or third Brian Tracy book I ever read. This was when I started to get into self-improvement and personal development. I was plagued by the question, “Why do some people become millionaires and other people don’t? What makes them different from the rest?”
This book helped me answer that question. Truthfully, everyone is different and there are countless variables that all work together to help any one person achieve success. However, Brian Tracy does a good job of putting together 21 of the biggest determining factors, which are mostly under your control. That’s the biggest takeaway you should have – since these “success secrets” are under your control, you have the power to change and develop them, increasing your chances of becoming a millionaire. 21 Secrets is based on Brian Tracy’s twenty-five years of research, teaching, and experience on the subject of self-made millionaires. It doesn’t hurt that Tracy himself used these very same “secrets” to achieve millionaire status. Biggest takeaway: “The most important part of achieving great success is not the money. It is the kind of person you have to become to earn that money and hold onto it.” |
What are you earning, per year, right now? No matter what that number is, double it. Then take a good look at that number, scratch it out, and double it again. That’s what you’re really worth, but you haven’t tapped into your true potential.
In this book, Brian Tracy gives you an instruction manual on how to increase your earning power. He gives step-by-step action plans and mindsets that he recommends in order to earn two or even four times what the reader is currently earning. At the end of every chapter, just like some of his other books, Earn What You’re Worth has action exercises, which are the most valuable part of the book because they can have a direct impact on the reader’s life. |
